Hello, we're your SLO farmers!
Sustainable | Local | Organic
Founded with a shared mission
We’re a group of families, friends, and neighbors who are passionate about growing the best local food right here in Northeast Wisconsin.
SLO Farmers Co-op was founded in 2014 with a simple idea: we could offer our community more Sustainable, Local, and Organic food by working together than we could separately.
By pooling our skills and products as individual farmers, they can provide a more well-rounded set of goods for customers, including vegetables, fruits, herbs, mushrooms, and meats. We can also meet the quantity demands of schools, company cafeterias, and local food programs. This helps keep our community fed with food that is locally- and responsibly-grown, rather than sourcing from large wholesalers.
We work together to feed our community
Today our co-op is made up of 8 independent family farms. Each one of us is located here in Northeast Wisconsin and is deeply rooted in our local community. Some farms grow vegetables, fruits, microgreens, or mushrooms. Some farms raise cattle, pigs, chickens, ducks, or turkeys. Some do both!
Each farm, in addition to running their own operations, applied to join the co-op and agreed to a shared set of standards: no GMOs, no synthetic pesticides, and a commitment to sustainable practices and animal stewardship. Read all of our values and farm guidelines.
Our values as a farm co-op
At SLO Farmers Co-op, we believe farming should work with the land, not against it. That’s why we focus on regenerative practices that nurture our soil, water, wildlife, and other natural resources so that our farms and our community can thrive for generations to come. This means doing the best by both the large and microscopic ecosystems around us.
Our animals live happy lives, free to express their natural instincts and behaviors - cattle graze on pastures, chickens scratch the soil and hunt for bugs, ducks enjoy swimming, and pigs root and wallow. When you see photos of our farms, you’re seeing the real deal. These are our farmers, our animals, and our way of life.
This is truly local food and it doesn’t get more honest than this.
Join us on our mission!
To cooperatively build the local food economy in Northeast Wisconsin with food from small, sustainable farms that prioritize the health of people, the planet (land and water), and animal stewardship; We strive to effectively support member producers, consumers, and the community.
