Our Farmers

Hi, we're your local farmers.

Full Circle Community Farm

Full Circle Community Farm

Full Circle Community Farm was named 2024 Organic Farm of the Year in the Midwest.

The Adamski family's roots stretch back five generations on their 260-acre farm in Seymour. Rick and Valerie use managed grazing as the cornerstone method for raising certified organic beef. The farm provides a balanced ecological system to protect waterways, increase soil health and sequester carbon, and increase wildlife and biodiversity.

Beyond their farm, Val and Rick are trailblazers in sustainable agriculture. Val implemented the Sustainable and Organic Farming program at Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). Rick serves on the board of GrassWorks, a statewide grazing organization. They are happy to see the next generation use part of the farm for vegetables and pork.

Andrew and Heather moved back to this, his home farm, after earning master’s degrees from Northern Michigan University. Andrew runs the machinery side of the veggie operation and oversees the pastured pork operation. Heather (a New Mexico transplant) is the administrative mastermind of the business. She not only runs the farm LLC, but also coordinates our SLO Farmer Cooperative food hub.

Scott Rosenberg joined with Heather Toman and Andrew Adamski to form Full Circle Community Farm LLC after leaving a well-paying corporate job. As co-owner-manager Scott oversees the farm’s work force and day-to-day field operations. He makes sure seeds are planted, weeds are weeded, and produce is harvested, cleaned, packed and stored, following the farm’s food safety protocols.

Full Circle Community Farm is the primary contributor of fresh produce to SLO's vegetable CSA Shares, the main suppliers of grass-fed pastured beef for SLO's Meat Boxes, and is one of the pastured pork providers. All farm enterprises are certified organic.

Their vision for Full Circle extends beyond its fertile fields; they see it blossoming into a beacon of community, where education and research are at the center of their mission.

Rick and Scott serve on SLO Farmers Co-op's Board of Directors.

Valentine Gardens

Valentine Gardens is a 5 acre educational and production farm located in the city of Green Bay. Sarah and Mark Valentine along with their 3 kids, dogs, cats, goats, chickens, pony, and bees love learning and teaching about sustainable farming.

They practice organic farming methods in both their acre of gardens and their 100+ tree orchard. They are also passionate about native plants and have fostered a beautiful property that has been certified as a Monarch Waystation.

Sarah and Mark are both educators. Both use their gifts to run successful farm camp programs for both kids and adults.

The Valentines are proud members of the Wisconsin Farmers Union and enjoy sharing their harvest with SLO's CSA members. They also host a farmstand that features select products.

Whether it's raising farm animals or planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables, the Valentines are firm believers that "Food should be loved!"

Mark serves on SLO Farmers Co-op's Board of Directors.

Golden Bear Farms in Kiel WI and Black Creek WI

Golden Bear Farms

Adam grew up farming in central Iowa, raising corn and beans with his family. Throughout high school Adam showed Angus cattle and Suffolk Sheep. Adam's formal background after school was working for Seaboard and Haverkamp Brothers overseeing hog production in the western states. Adam grew to a size that he helped build/develop hog barns that would contain up to 10,000 breeding sows and finish out over a million pigs per year. In 2017, Adam moved to Wisconsin with his wife, Samantha. Samantha grew up outside the Appleton Area and showed sheep in 4-H and helped milk goats for a family friend. Both of them have been raising 100% Berkshire pigs and Red Angus beef cattle on organic pastures.

Adam and Samantha firmly believe that what you put into the land will make its way back to the body and the long-term effect can have a great deal on your health. A normal summer Adam runs the farm while Samantha maintains the grounds and keeps the livestock in order. Adam cuts and bales the hay while Samantha drives the trucks to keep the flow going. Adam and Samantha have taken over Golden Bear Farms after 4 years of working with Steve Deibele. Adam and Steve formed a great bond back in 2021 and they had the same vision  to raise pigs organically that are No Corn No Soy No Gmos and No Hormones.

In the spring and summer the farm is moving in full force. The cattle are rotationally grazed eating luxuriant forage. The pigs get organic fruits and vegetables year around from local organic vegetable farms. These pigs are used by chefs at higher end dining resturants in Sheboygan WI, Appleton WI, Bonduel Wi, Chicago IL, and Minneapolis MN.

Adam and Sam would love to have you out to  the farm for a visit, have some food and enjoy music on field days.

Pape Family Pastures

Aaron and Erin of Pape Family Pastures are passionate conservationists. This mission drives every aspect of their farm. The natural beauty of their family-run farm is a testament to their unwavering commitment to nurturing the land and its inhabitants, with history and heritage that stretches back generations.

At Pape Family Pastures, the landscape is simultaneously alive and calm with the gentle grazing of pastured cattle, pigs, and chicken. With no prior farming experience, Aaron and Erin were guided by the principles of soil health and inspired by Aldo Leopold's timeless essay, "The Good Oak." They strive to be good stewards of their family's farmland, just down the road from Aaron's grandparents' farm.

Their approach is rooted in the belief that perennial pasture is the cornerstone of good stewardship, enriching the soil, nurturing healthy animals, and fostering a vibrant environment for generations to come. Their goal is to make our corner of the world a “greener” place: generating richer soils, raising healthy animals, and creating a vibrant environment for their family.

Every chicken found in SLO's Meat Boxes was raised on the beautiful pastures of Pape Family Pastures.

Erin serves as the treasurer of SLO Farmers Co-op.

Kahulahele Farmstead

Jennifer Falck and Tony Kuchma tend to their farmstead in the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin where they provide food to the tribal community. In their lush pastures nestled in a border of trees, they raise poultry and pork and grow a variety of vegetables.

Their primary goal is to contribute to indigenous food sovereignty, build a micro food system, and practice regenerative agriculture in the tribal community they hold dear. Their farmstead is not merely a place of cultivation; it is a sanctuary of resilience, where the principles of regenerative agriculture take root, revitalizing the soil and replenishing the soul.

At the heart of their mission lies a profound sense of community. Jennifer and Tony are not just farmers; they are integral members of the community, deeply involved in uplifting and empowering their community. They are eager to share their knowledge and resources with others in the community, including providing access to equipment for others to expand their own poultry operations.

Kellner Back Acre Garden

Kellner Back Acre Garden

In the rolling hills just outside of Denmark, Wisconsin, you will find Kellner Back Acre Garden and its gardens and flocks of free-range chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Tom and Nancy are the third generation to care for their land.

The farm is a testament to their unwavering commitment to sustainable agriculture, certified organic for both produce and eggs.

From the break of dawn until nightfall, free-range chickens and ducks roam the pastures, basking in the warmth of the sun and the freedom of open spaces. As dusk descends, they find shelter in the safety of the barn, a testament to the Kellner family's dedication to the well-being of their feathered friends. The turkeys live safely in portable, open bottom pens that move to fresh pasture daily, embodying the farm's ethos of respect for nature's rhythms.

Kellner Back Acre Garden supplies fresh eggs to retail outlets in Green Bay, the Fox Valley, and Milwaukee. They provide meat birds to Outpost Natural Foods in Milwaukee. They also have a small on-farm store where local customers can pick up an array of fresh produce, farm-fresh eggs, and meat.

Prairie Folk Farm

Prairie Folk Farm is located in northeast Wisconsin, outside Chilton, where farmers Austin and Kristen Pethan raise pastured lamb, fiber, and pastured eggs. Their five children are the seventh generation to call the farm home. The Pethan’s were drawn to life on the farm in order to raise their family on nutritious, ethically raised meat and veggies from their soil. It is with these values that they would be honored to raise food and fiber for your family.

Prairie Folk Farm is deeply dedicated to the art and science of managed grazing. Farmers Austin and Kristen believe that managed grazing promotes healthy soil, water, and air which is fundamental to wholesome food, healthy people, and thriving communities. It is with this in mind that they strive to steward the land they call home and improve it for the next generation of farmers.

Outside of farming, Austin runs a grazing consulting service and Kristen works part-time as a nurse. She also manages the garden and all things food preservation, and is the farm's biggest asset during lambing season, as she used to be a midwife. Austin and Kristen recently partnered with winemakers Jon and Kerri of Wolf and Fox Winery, where they will graze their sheep flock on the pastures surrounding the vineyards.

The lamb and eggs produced on Prairie Folk Farm’s pastures can be purchased through their website, Park Ridge Organics Farm store, and through SLO-Farmer’s Co-op.

Austin serves on SLO Farmers Co-op's Board of Directors.
